Aquatics Coordinator- Strait Area Pool

 

The Strait Area Pool has a strong legacy of providing high-quality aquatics instruction to residents of the Strait Area for more than 30 years. The Town of Port Hawkesbury is accepting applications for an Aquatics Coordinator who is a leader and has a knowledge and passion for aquatics and promoting a healthy way of life.

 

Position Summary

As our new Aquatics Coordinator you will create a fun, yet professional environment, providing our customers and their children with a great learning experience.

The Aquatics Coordinator will be responsible for the overall operations and the programming of the Strait Area pool. The position will recruit, train, schedule and supervise staff necessary to achieve success and will be responsible to create and to manage aquatic program plans, including marketing, budgeting and staffing requirements. Work shifts require flexibility. A knowledge of pool mechanics and chemicals, and equipment and facility management is required. This is a 35 hour per week position.

 

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Required: Education from an accredited institution in Aquatics, Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Management or related field and one year of appropriate experience in a variety of aquatics programs. Current NLS  lifeguard  certification would be an asset, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, current NLS Lifeguard Instructor Certification and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification. Should have CPO certification, and/or willing to obtain.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.
