Volunteers Needed to Help Vulnerable Residents

COVID-19 Pandemic Responses

There are many people in the Town of Port Hawkesbury that are particularly vulnerable to the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Town would like to form a group of volunteers who may be able to help those most in need while still abiding by the rules of social distancing and personal protection.

The needs in the community are evolving daily but may include:

  • Pick up and drop off of prescriptions
  • Pick up and drop off of groceries
  • Food Bank tasks
  • Dog walking

The Town of Port Hawkesbury would like to recognize all those that have reached out to their family and neighbors in need and to encourage you to continue to do so. Volunteers are needed for those that do not necessarily have the very important support network in place.

If you wish to volunteer please email:  info@townofph.ca or phone: 902-625-2591 with your contact information.  For the protection of volunteers and those that we will serve, all persons wishing to put forward their name must provide a recent (within the past year) copy of a criminal record check and child abuse registry.

Thank you.

Terry Doyle, P.Eng.
Chief Administrative Officer
Town of Port Hawkesbury
