A Message from the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing

As many of you have probably heard, the Province is asking healthcare workers not currently in the workforce to help their communities by filling positions in long-term care facilities to address staffing shortages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing vacancies.  You can read the associated news release at:  https://novascotia.ca/news/release/?id=20220119006

 

Specifically, long-term care facilities are recruiting people with needed skills and training who are retired or not currently working in the sector, as well as those who are working on a part-time basis and can move to full-time hours on a temporary basis.  Temporary, short-term and long-term paid positions are available now.

 

Once again, we are asking for your assistance in sharing this information through your municipal/village website and any social media channels that you use for communicating with residents.  The following links may be helpful in this regard:
