TOWN OF PORT HAWKESBURY AQUATICS COORDINATOR TERM POSITION

The Strait Area Pool has a strong legacy of providing high-quality aquatic instruction to residents of the Strait Area for more than 30 years. The Town of Port Hawkesbury is accepting applications for an Aquatics Coordinator who is a leader and has a knowledge and passion for aquatics and promoting a healthy way of life.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Aquatics Co-ordinator you will create a fun, yet professional environment, providing our patrons with a great learning experience. Reporting to the Recreation Director the Aquatics coordinator, orga- nizes and implements the aquatic programs and special events. If qualified, you shall perform Lifeguarding and Aquatic Instructor duties to oversee the safety of pool use. The position will recruit, train, schedule and supervise staff necessary to achieve success and will be responsible to create and to manage aquatic program plans, in-cluding marketing, budgeting and staffing requirements. Work shifts require flexibility. A knowledge of pool mechanics and chemicals,and equipment and facility management is preferred. This is a 35 hour per week position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 education

  • 5 years experience in a supervisory role - considered an asset

  • Water Safety Instructor certification, National Lifeguard Service certification, Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification

  • Aquatic Supervisor Training
