Granville Street Bridge Repair Project Update
Posted on:
The Town of Port Hawkesbury is pleased to provide an update on the Granville Street Bridge Repair project.
Required regulatory approvals and permitting for the project are now in place, and the project to repair and reopen the two-lane bridge has been tendered. The tender has been posted through the Nova Scotia Procurement website portal, with submissions due by May 21, 2026.
Following the tender closing, the Town will review submissions and award the project. Once awarded, the contractor will finalize scheduling and mobilize to site to complete the repairs.
The current plan is to complete the repairs and have the bridge back in service during summer 2026.
Traffic control arrangements will remain unchanged throughout construction, and the Town will continue to provide updates as key project milestones are reached.
We appreciate the continued patience and understanding of residents, businesses, and the travelling public while this important infrastructure project moves forward.
