The Town of Port Hawkesbury is pleased to announce the opening of our new Off-Leash Area at the Port Hawkesbury Waterfront!
This new space was made possible through the hard work and dedication of the Port Hawkesbury Community Development Committee, whose commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities continues to make our community an even better place to live, work, and play. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this project to life!
Whether you’re stopping by for a quick play session or enjoying a walk along the waterfront, we hope you and your four-legged friends enjoy this new amenity.
To help keep the park safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone, please take a moment to review and follow the posted rules while using the area. By working together and respecting the space, we can ensure it remains a welcoming place for all.
Off Leash Area Rules:
-You must carry a leash.
-It is essential that you only allow dogs with effective recall skills to be off leash in this area.
-You must keep your dog within sight.
-You will be held responsible for any damages or injuries caused by a dog in your care.
-Dogs must not interfere with other park users.
-Aggressive dogs, female dogs in heat, and puppies under three months old are not permitted in off-leash area.
-You must pick up your dog’s waste immediately.
