Notice to Public:

Posted on:

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has officially gone on strike as of Friday, November 15, 2024, and Town of Port Hawkesbury residents may be impacted.

With uncertainty surrounding when the postal service will resume, the Town is encouraging residents to use alternate methods for sending payment during this period. We also encourage anyone expecting a bill from the Town to reach out to the appropriate department to confirm the details.

At the present time, we do not recommend residents send urgent documents or payments by mail.

Accounts Payable: For the period of postal service disruption, cheques will not be mailed out. Vendors have the option to collect their cheques in person by providing valid identification at the time of pickup. Vendors can also contact [email protected] to make alternative arrangements for receipt.

Accounts Receivable:
Property Tax & Utility Customers are still responsible for any outstanding bills. We encourage residents to reach out to our Property Tax Team if they are expecting a reminder notice or believe they have a balance. The team can be reached at: [email protected]
