Registration for Winter 2024 Recreation and Aquatics Programs is now open.

The Town of Port Hawkesbury uses an online registration system.

This system allows users to:

  • Register and pay
  • No wait times
  • Print your own receipts
  • Track your program registration history (for the whole family!)

Program Refund Policy:

For participant program withdrawals, all funds will be transferred by way of credit on account.

Refunds will only be issued for medical reasons of the participant, supported by a medical certificate, or for special circumstances. Once a program has begun, refunds will only be issued for medical reasons of the participant, supported by a medical certificate, or for special circumstances, at a pro-rated rate based on the number of day/classes that have passed. There may be additional administrative fees.

If a program is cancelled by the Town a full refund will be issued. Refunds may take up to 30 days.

Strait Area Pool

The Strait Area Pool opened in 1977. It consists of a 6 lane 25 metre salt water pool and a wading pool, both of which are used for Learn to Swim programming, Water Exercises, and Recreational Swimming. It is also a home to the PHAST Swim team.

Port Hawkesbury Community Park

The Port Hawkesbury Community Park, located on MacQuarrie Drive Extension, is home to a first class playground, splash pad, and basketball courts. The playground is open year round and the splash pad is open 10am-8pm daily from late June to September.

Discover a wide variety of plants and wildlife as the 10-kilometre trail system winds its way through majestic hardwood stands, softwood forests and along gently flowing brooks and streams. A series of rest areas inviting you to stop and enjoy the surrounding scenery can be found throughout the trail.

2023/2024 Holiday Schedule

The Town of Port Hawkesbury would like to provide residents with a schedule of holiday closure dates for all departments, the PHCC Arena, Strait Area Pool, Fitness Centre, and information on garbage collection and Christmas tree chipping and drop-off.

Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion
